Somatic Mindfulness Program

The Somatic Mindfulness Program was a huge success earlier this year and I am so excited to be offering this again starting 26 June.

What is Somatic Mindfulness?
Somatic Mindfulness is the practice of building capacity and safety within your own body to hold and experience whatever is arising. Using mindfulness as our foundation, we become aware of the deficiency stories and limiting beliefs that influence all our behaviours, habits and decisions and build capacity to process unresolved stress cycles that are keeping us feeling stuck.

Somatic Mindfulness shows us how to integrate all parts of ourselves, even those parts we have been running from, with love and compassion. Equipped with these tools, you can feel confident you have the skills to be with whatever life throws at you.

Topics covered over 6 weeks include:

  1. What is Somatic Mindfulness and how is it different?
  2. Meditation, mindfulness, and trauma – how are they related?
  3. All experience as words, pictures and body sensations.
  4. Somatic Mindfulness tools, self-inquiry, exploring triggers and shadow work.  The Enneagram.
  5. Finding freedom from limiting beliefs and creating what we want – somatic mindfulness in action.
  6. Growing in capacity to feel and express emotion. The healing spiral.

What you get:

6 x 60-minute individual mentoring sessions with me (online).
These mentoring sessions provide the opportunity to look at your specific areas of concern and start to uncover the deficiency  stories that are impacting your day-to-day life. This might be unhelpful habits with food or alcohol,  anxiety, depression, disordered eating, grief, perfectionism, or just a feeling that you can’t stop. These sessions can be taken anytime up to 6-months from the start of the program.

6 x Weekly Group Calls via Zoom (60 mins)
Call Dates: June 26, July 3, July 10, July 24, July 31, August 7 (No call 17/7. All calls at 5pm ACST). In the group calls we cover the basic techniques of somatic mindfulness and learn how to bring these tools to our daily experiences. We then take the theory from the group calls into your one-on-one sessions. Group work has great benefits as we can understand the universal nature of our stories and feel supported by like-minded people. All calls are recorded so you can participate in these live or catch up on the recordings later.

24/7 support via VOXER
This is a free app that provides access to me whenever you have questions or want to share an experience. This works well for questions that arise in between sessions or when you need immediate support. One of the limitations of talk therapy is that there is no support in between sessions – that’s where this helps. You can drop me a message on VOXER anytime so you can receive support when you need it most.

Somatic Mindfulness Workbook:
This will be your reference for all the materials covered in the group calls and provides details about the tools and practices we cover throughout the program.

Private Facebook Group:
This is a closed group where we can share resources, ideas and ask questions. All the weekly call recordings can be accessed here as well as supplementary reading and resources to support you through the program.

What others are saying about the Somatic Mindfulness Program

“Amanda is a wonderful guide to understanding yourself. The Somatic Mindfulness program has brought so many great tools for me to use. Amanda’s kind and nurturing approach truly helps to open up which is essential when you are on the self-discovery journey. I highly recommend this program if you are looking to find the answers to your physical, intellectual or/and emotional stuckness.” – Nataliya

“..Whilst no doubt Mindfulness is the current buzzword, Somatic Mindfulness goes one step deeper where you connect mindful practice with what your body is actually telling you. Essentially Amanda supports you to be fully present in the moment. I thoroughly enjoyed the course. Amanda is a caring and supportive facilitator whom I felt very comfortable with from the start. Group sessions were great too and not scary at all and then you had the chance to focus on specifics in one on one sessions. This was backed up with some theory which underpinned concepts. I came out of the course with more awareness and the ability to step back from what your nervous system and body is telling you, observe it and consciously move forward…Thank you Amanda – great course and what everyone would benefit from particularly given the current impacts of the pandemic!” – Jo B
